CEAD is an educational research and development center that provides programs and services to promote the academic success of Filipino Deaf Learners.

Deaf Heritage and Filipino Sign Language Studies

CEAD believes that Filipino Deaf individuals must learn about their heritage and sign language. Through Deaf Heritage and Filipino Sign Language Studies (DHFSLS), CEAD conducts research on Filipino Sign Language and Deaf culture.

Deaf Centered Educational Assessment and Research

CEAD aims to make research and assessment relevant and useful, serving as a foundation for decisions on education of Filipino Deaf learners. The information generated from CEAD’s research are meant to serve as inputs to help maximize the learning capability and academic performance of Filipino Deaf learners.

Initiatives and Innovations on Deaf Literacy and Development

CEAD believes in the importance of the Filipino Deaf to acquire bilingual literacy on FSL and on their print languages. To achieve this goal, CEAD develops and offers short courses, innovations, and initiatives designed to support the full development of Deaf learners’ bilingual literacies.

Learning Materials Development

CEAD develops visual and digital materials to promote and enhance the understanding of Filipino Sign Language. Through Learning Materials Development (LMD), CEAD creates resources for bilingual teaching methods by incorporating both print and digital media, and produces content on Deaf Heritage and Deaf Life Stories in video, print, and web formats.
